Jacob Kiplimo from Uganda has won the 47th running of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on Sunday, Oct. 12, 2025.
The 47th Bank of America Chicago Marathon kicked off at 7:20 a.m., with participants arriving as early as 5:30 a.m. to prepare. The men’s professional wheelchair division started first, followed by the women’s professional wheelchair race.
The men’s and women’s professional running divisions began at 7:30 a.m., with three additional waves of runners starting shortly after.
Jacob Kiplimo of Uganda won the 47th annual marathon, marking his second time competing in the event. Kiplimo came close to breaking the course record set in 2023 by the late Kenyan Kelvin Kiptum at the 2023 Chicago Marathon.
