The Chronicle and Department of Science and Mathematics host Solar Eclipse watch party

Hundreds of viewers gathered in Grant Park to watch the Solar Eclipse on April 8, 2024.

Viewers used homemade pinhole viewers, eclipse glasses and even their shadows to watch the phenomena.

The eclipse reached its peak in Chicago at 2:07 PM reaching 94% totality.
