Costumed participants run for CHIditarod XIV, the annual food drive

  • The start line of the food race, CHIditarod XIV, took place next to Cobra Lounge, 235 N. Ashland Ave.

  • CHIditarod is an annual food drive where participating teams run with a shopping cart while wearing costumes to collect food and other donations.

  • One team headed to Roots Handmade Pizza, 1924 W. Chicago Ave., one of the five checkpoints on the race.

  • Another team after stopping by at Mahoney’s Pub & Grill, 551 N. Ogden Ave., which was also the location where the award ceremony took place after the race.

  • A Tiki Bar team member crossing the finish line at two hours and 55 minutes after the start.

  • Since the first CHIditarod race in 2006, more than 190,000 pounds of food and $239,000 in donations have been collected.

  • After the race is finished, participants and organizers gather for an award ceremony and a celebration of the event.
