This 27 foot-long painted scroll is called the Qingming (CHING-ming) Scroll, commonly known as “Along the River during the Qingming Festival.” It is a later copy of an original Song Dynasty painting. The entire silk scroll is made up of exquisitely-detailed images depicting daily life in a bustling town and its outskirts. Only a small portion of the scroll will be visible at a time, for conservation reasons, but visitors will be able to explore the entire scroll through a large touch screen interactive.
