0:04 Welcome to the Three C’s with the Columbia Chronicle.
0:07 Your go-to source for the top three things every Columbia College student, faculty and staff member needs to know this week.
0:15 We are here to bring you credible information about our campus, and provide the clarity you need on the issues that matter most.
0:23 I’m your host, Greer Stewart.
0:25 Following a close race between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump coming to a close, here are three events on campus that give students a chance to de-stress this week following the election results.
0:41 Join ISSS for Clare’s Coffee Chat,
0:44 a free weekly series offered the first Wednesday of every month.
0:47 The event takes place November 6 in 618 South Michigan Avenue on the fourth floor.
0:52 Feel free to stop by to ask questions and snack and chat with Clare.
0:56 The final coffee chat will return on December 4th.
0:59 Follow @ISSS_ColumbiaCollege for more updates and interactive international student and scholar services.
1:08 If you missed the Center for Student Wellbeing Anxie-tea Community Support Session on Monday, the center still hosts multiple events on campus, allowing students to de-stress and build community.
1:18 Every Tuesday, the Center for Student Wellbeing hosts urban hiking and surviving adulting.
1:23 Urban hiking meets every Tuesday 12 to 1 in front of the Student Center for a short downtown hike to get fresh air and a chance to see something new around campus.
1:33 Surviving adulting also takes place in the student center in room 329 to allow students to ask questions that can range anywhere from roommates, to relationships, to anxiety around campus climate.
1:44 You can sign up for free on Engage or just drop in with questions for the wellness staff.
1:53 Community Connections is being offered every Wednesday from 5 to 6 p.m. in 623 South Wabash, Suite 304.
2:00 The space is offered to chat with other students and get support.
2:08 The idea behind calling it a ‘drop-in support group’ is just to let students know that you don’t have to commit to coming every week.
2:17 It could be a day that you more feel like coming. It can be a day you really need to connect with people and talk about some things.
2:22 Or it could just be, you felt like relaxing and chatting and having some snacks, you know? So, it could really be for any reason.
2:28 Treats will be provided along with various crafts and activities.
2:32 Though a therapist is hosting the space, the room presents an informal vibe for students to meet and chat about life change adjustments or whatever is on your mind.
