This week on Three C’s: The college will present the Board of Trustees with the program overhaul on Monday, Dec. 16, Created to Achieve Success aims to help students with the cost of textbooks, and important dates to know for the end of the semester.

0:29: The college will present the program overhaul to the Board of Trustees on Monday, December 16th.
0:36: The board will consider recommendations to merge or eliminate certain majors.
0:42: The board was originally set to consider the changes in February 2025.
0:48: The changes that are under consideration will go into effect for new students in Fall 2025. 0:55 Students who are already enrolled in cut programs will be able to finish their degree, but continuing students may be affected by changes to course offerings and curriculum.
1:07 Created to achieve success, or CTAS, is a student group that aims to help students with the rising cost of textbooks and other materials.
1:17: The library has a reserve of 781 textbooks but they cannot be removed from the building.
1:24: CTAS aims to create a lending library in the loft at the Student Center so students can bring home the books they need to borrow.
1:33: They also hope to create a directory so students know where to access free and affordable materials.
1:40: The college recommends students budget $950 for books and supplies.
1:46: There will also be a tuition increase of 5% and a fee increase of 2% for continuing students next year.
1:55 As the semester comes to a close, here are some important dates you should know.
2:00 The Ventra U-Pass that provides students with unlimited rides on CTA trains and buses will temporarily deactivate on December 19th.
2:09: During the break, students may add more money to their account and continue using it as a regular Ventra card.
2:16: Campus buildings will be closed during break but residence halls will remain open.
2:22: The January session, or J-Term, will begin Monday, January 6th.
2:28 The spring semester will begin Monday, January 27th.
