Chronicle TV: College increases scholarship efforts, students march to president’s house

This week our host, Uriel Reyes discusses the college’s increasing scholarships efforts.

Columbia students don’t pay the full $31,000 tuition price to attend the college. With 96% of first-year students this fall received a discounted rate from scholarships. Columbia is tuition-driven, meaning its income primarily comes from tuition.

Columbia’s part-time faculty union continues to strike into its second weekend.

On Friday, Nov. 10, students and professors marched to President and CEO Kwang-Wu Kim’s residence where they brought art supplies to do an “art build” outside of the residence.

This episode of Chronicle TV was filmed on Friday, Nov. 10, 2023.

Hosted by Uriel Reyes and Olivia Cohen. Camera operated by Leah Love. Audio by Araceli Ramirez. Written, directed, produced and edited by Andres Guerra. Graphics by Alex Suarez.
