Deborah Holdstein, dean of the School of Liberal Arts & Sciences, recently announced she is stepping down from her position after seven years at Columbia. Suzanne Blum-Malley, associate professor of the English Department, has been named her successor until a permanent dean is selected. The Chronicle sat down with both women to reflect on their past accomplishments and future goals.
