Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced 27-year-old police veteran Eddie Johnson as Chicago’s new interim police superintendent March 28 at the Chicago Police Headquarters, located at 3510 S. Michigan Ave. Emanuel said after asking several officers about Johnson’s qualifications for the job, he felt Johnson was the best for the position. Johnson said he plans to reopen any case that needs further investigation but he also wants everyone to know being a cop is “one of the hardest jobs in the world.”
