‘Youth in Revolt’ Film Review

By Cristina Aguirre

Based on the popular 1993 novel by C.D Payne, Youth in Revolt delivers the awkward meanderings of Nick Twisp (Micheal Cera), a sex-obsessed teenager whose parents are on the edge of divorce. While on vacation in a trailer park, Nick meets his dream girl Sheeni Saunders (Portia Doublesday). After finding out her classy ex-boyfriend is in the way, he soon develops a bad boy French alter-ego named Francois Dillinger. With blue contacts, a mustache and a bad boy attitude to help win over Sheeni, Francois ends up making Nick a criminal. The Columbia Chronicle’s Film Critic, David Orlikoff, reviews the film.
