Facilities and Construction confirmed there are no sightings of bed bugs in the Student Center after an investigation by an outside pest control firm.

Students shared rumors on social media and through text that bugs were reportedly found in one of the study rooms. The rumors were not true.

Responding to a student comment in the Engage App, the college’s own social media portal, Ann Kalayil, associate vice president of Facilities and Construction, said pest control was scheduled first thing Thursday morning.

On Friday, Kalayil told the Chronicle a thorough cleaning was scheduled and is now complete as a preventative measure. But no bed bugs were found.
