Students run for Mary Blood Ball king, queen

By Cristina Aguirre

Students created viral self-promotions to become the next king or queen of the annual Mary Blood Ball, an event honoring and celebrating Columbia’s founder, Mary Blood. An arts, entertainment and media management class sponsored “Upper Crust: King and Queen” on Nov. 8 at the Quincy Wong Center for Artistic Expression, 623 S. Wabash Ave., where students got a chance to run by creating videos promoting themselves for the throne.

Voting is now available to the public on their YouTube channel from Nov. 9 through Dec. 2. The top five nominees for king and queen will move on to the next round.
