College to hold spring commencement at Arie Crown Theatre

This year’s spring commencement ceremonies will be at the Arie Crown Theatre at the McCormick Place Convention Center on May 13 and 14.

The Arie Crown Theatre is located at 2301 S. Jean Baptiste Point DuSable Lake Shore Dr.

Commencement returned in-person last year for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic moved the ceremonies online in 2020 and 2021. In recent years, Columbia has held its graduation ceremonies at the Auditorium Theatre at Roosevelt University and at the Chicago Theatre on State Street.

What you need to know: There will be four ceremonies total over two days, with both undergraduate and graduate programs divided among four time slots. Both morning commencements will be at 10 a.m., and afternoon ceremonies will be held at 3 p.m.

  • English and Creative Writing
  • Humanities, History and Social Sciences
  • Dance
  • Theatre
  • Fashion Studies
  • Science and Math

Saturday, May 13 afternoon commencement includes:

  • Business and Entrepreneurship
  • Communication
  • Audio Arts and Acoustics
  • Photography

Sunday, May 14 morning commencement includes:

  • Cinema and Television Arts

Sunday, May 14 afternoon commencement includes:

  • Art and Art History
  • Design
  • Music
  • Interactive Arts and Media
