Commentary

Each week, three editorials and two commentaries representing the views of the editorial board and individual reporters, respectively, will appear in the commentary section. Please see editorial board processes within this manual for more details. Also include letters to the editor received during that week.

Asst. Commentary Editor

Write at least one commentary and three editorials a week that reflect the opinion of the editorial board

Possess a strong knowledge of all current international, national, city, neighborhood and school-wide news, especially that which will interest Columbia students, teachers and faculty

Work closely with the Campus, Arts & Culture, Sports & Health and Metro editors in order to coordinate commentaries and editorials with the stories running each week

Ensure accuracy and ensuring that no libel, no violation of the Privacy Act and no obscenity appears anywhere in the opinion page(s)
