Violence in Chicago and the Weather

Finally through with a harsh winter, many Chicagoans are excited for summer’s warm temperatures to come. However, sometimes when it gets warm, criminal activity spikes. So far this year, 600 people have been shot in Chicago with 110 shootings resulting in fatal injuries. To help combat summer crime increases, Mayor Rahm Emanuel and the Chicago Police Department announced a summer safety partnership that will deploy more officers in high crime areas.
