Teachers want CPS to “Let Them Teach”

Angry parents, teachers and Chicago Teacher’s Union members gathered March 10 outside the Teacher’s Academy of Math and Science, 501 W. 35th St., to boycott the Illinois Standard Achievement Test and to communicate their message to Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Chicago Public School administrators to stop retaliation against teachers. According to a CTU press release, about 1,700 students across the CPS system have opted out of the state-issued exam.
