State of Chicago Public Schools
June 13, 2016
Parents, educators and city politicians gathered at the National Teachers Academy, 55 W. Cermak Road, on June 11 to brainstorm a solution to the Chicago Public School system’s lack of funding.
Community members called on local lawmakers to support and help fix the state’s budget crisis as it continues to affect public education.
With several CPS principals recently resigning and Gov. Bruce Rauner calling the schools “crumbling prisons,” some of the event’s attendees questioned the district’s start in the fall.
