Chicago says goodbye to Hot Doug’s | The Columbia Chronicle

Chicago’s favorite North Side hot dog spot, Hot Doug’s, 3324 N. California Ave., closed permanently Oct. 3. The closing was officially announced in May. The pouring rain, however, did not stop loyal fans from enjoying one last great meal there. Customers camped out under tents and umbrellas overnight. The owner, Doug Sohn, says he decided to close up shop after almost 14 years because he’s ready to do something else.
