New Archbishop vows to protect the children | The Columbia Chronicle

On Sept. 20, Bishop Blase Cupich from Spokane, Washington was introduced as the ninth Archbishop of Chicago. He will succeed Cardinal Francis George in an official ceremony on Nov. 18. At the press conference held at the Archbishop Quigley Center, 835 N. Rush St., Archbishop-Elect Cupich outlined his goals for the church, one of them being to protecting children from abuse by clergy.
