SXSW Music Festival 2010

For Five days every spring, Austin, Texas becomes the music capital of the world as everyone who is anyone in the music business surges into the city. More than 2,000 bands play throughout the city in one of more than 90 venues. The music starts around 10 A.M. and continues until about 4 the following morning. The festival was founded in 1987 with 700 registrants. Today, the festival boasts over 12,000 registrants and plays a key role in Austin’s economy. According to the Austin Business Journal, the festival had an economic impact of $110 Million in 2008.
