Apple fans line up to buy iPhone 6, 6 Plus | The Columbia Chronicle

After months of speculation, Apple officially released the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus in stores nationwide on Sept. 19. In its first 24 hours of pre-orders, the iPhone 6 sold 4 million units, according to a Sept. 15 announcement from Apple. The new versions of the iPhone have larger screen sizes, enhanced front and back cameras and the latest iOS 8 software. Enthusiasts waited outside the store at 679 N. Michigan Ave. for days, some nearly a week, to be one of the first to get the new device.
