MAP Grant veto threatens graduation | The Columbia Chronicle

Gov. Bruce Rauner said on Feb. 2 he plans to veto a bill that would fund grants provided by the state to low income students. On Feb. 16, members of several Chicago colleges gathered at the Thompson Center, 100 W. Randolph St., to rally and call on Rauner to provide promised money to students. Some institutions are filling the gaps for students sponsored on MAP grants, but many students are left to pay what the state has failed to provide them.
