‘A Prophet’ of a film

Malik El Djebena is condemned to six years in prison after spending  a good part of his life in juvenile detention. Although the 19-year-old cannot read nor write, he becomes a fast learner after the leader of the Corsican gang who rules the prison gives him numerous “missions” to carry out. This toughen him up, but figures out the politics of the prison system. The Chronicle’s film critic, David Orlikoff, reviews the crime drama.
