Pegeen Reichert Powell to step in as chair of English and Creative Writing Department

Interim Dean of Graduate Studies Pegeen Reichert Powell has been named chair of the English and Creative Writing Department effective at the end of May, according to a Dec. 17 email to faculty and staff.

Powell will replace Kenneth Daley as chair, who is stepping down at the end of May.

“Reichert Powell has done an exceptional job ensuring the development of the School of Graduate Studies,” said Interim Senior Vice President and Provost Suzanne Blum Malley in the email. “We are grateful for her continued leadership in the English and Creative Writing Department.”

Jeff Schiff, professor of English and Creative Writing, will serve as interim dean of Graduate Studies for two years starting June 2019.

Schiff previously worked as director of Graduate Studies in English and was associate chair of the English Department.
