Psychological thriller keeps you guessing

Leonardo DiCaprio plays Teddy Daniels, an up-and-coming U.S. Marshall who is assigned to investigate who is number 67. Daniels believes this number refers to a secret extra inmate held at the maximum security mental hospital for the criminally insane on the titular “Shutter Island”. The plot twists after his partner Chuck Aule played by Mark Ruffalo finds that the prison staff aren’t cooperating with their investigation and the plot twists. Directed by Martin Scorsese, the action-thriller will entertain and puzzle. The Chronicle’s film critic, David Orlikoff, reviews the movie.
