CTU: Karen Lewis has ‘serious illness’ | The Columbia Chronicle

Chicago Teacher’s Union president Karen Lewis has been hospitalized since Oct. 5 with what CTU officials describe as a “serious illness.” CTU vice president Jesse Sharkey will assume her duties until she returns. Many questions have been raised on what exactly put Lewis in the hospital, and there is speculation the illness could inhibit her potential bid for mayor of Chicago.
