Gov. Pat Quinn and Pres. Kwang-Wu Kim announced on Tuesday, Oct. 28 that Columbia would receive $6.2 million from the state. $1 million will be used for a new film studio, while the other $5 million will go towards curricula. The announcement was made at the Conaway Center, 1104 S. Wabash at 12 noon.
