This week, Student Diversity and Inclusion, the peer educator program and the student government association are celebrating Pride in May. Here are three events honoring the LGBTQ+ community this week.

0:29: This week, Student Diversity and Inclusion, the Peer Educator Program and the Student Government Association are celebrating Pride in May.
0:39: About 40% of Columbia students identify as LGBTQ+.
0:45: June is nationally recognized as LGBTQ Pride Month.
0:49: Since the semester officially ends on May 16th, Columbia is celebrating Pride Month early.
0:55: Here are 3 events honoring the LGBTQ+ community this week.
1:01: A Queer People of Color Panel and Mixer will be held on Wednesday, May 7th.
1:07: Students will share about their experiences as queer people of color and connect with others.
1:12: The event runs from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Hive on the third floor of 618 South Michigan.
1:20: The annual Lavender Ceremony will take place in the Hive on Thursday, May 8th.
1:25: The ceremony recognizes LGBTQ plus graduates.
1:29: The event will begin at 5:30 p.m.
1:34: On Friday, May 9th, Pride and May will conclude with the Unity and Pride Ball.
1:39: The celebration will feature performances by queer artists.
1:42: The event starts at 5 p.m. in the HAUS at 623 South Wabash.
