Students discuss their planned Halloween costumes and their favorite costumes from past years.

0:13: Halloween is this Friday, so we went around Columbia’s campus to ask students what they plan to dress up as.
0:20: Google Trends analyzed data and search interests for Halloween costumes and came up with the top picks.
0:26: The 1st 5, all characters from “KPop Demon Hunters,” an animated film featuring members of a fictional K-pop girl group who secretly battle demons between concerts.
0:36: Demon Hunter Rumi is number one.
0:38: Others on the list include Chicken Jockey from “Minecraft,” Labubu.
0:43: Derpy the Tiger, also from “KPop Demon Hunters,” Elfaba from “Wicked,” and “The Lorax.”
0:49: This year, I will be going as Mr.
0:51: Fox from the Wes Anderson movie “Fantastic Mr.
0:54: Fox,” but my favorite costume when I was younger was Woody from “Toy Story.”
0:58: I’m going to be Stack from “Sinners.”
1:01: I am being a clown.
1:02: I will be Ash Ketchum from “Pokémon.”
1:05: I do not have a costume for Halloween this year, but if I was prepared, I would probably be Miss Frizzle from the “Magic School Bus.”
1:15: My favorite Halloween costumes are usually the ones where people dress up as like items.
1:21: I always think it’s hilarious.
1:23: My favorite Halloween costume that I had when I dressed up as a kid was I was a gumball.
1:27: Machine.
1:28: The bee costume, that was something that was super popular in the early 2000s, and me, my mom and my grandma actually all dressed up as bees.
1:38: I think that’s why it’s my favorite, because we did it like as a team.
1:41: It’s just the three of us, we dressed up as s’mores, so I was the marshmallow, and my parents were the graham cracker and chocolate, so we might do that again, which would be really fun.

1:52: White witch from “Narnia,” costume as a young child, and it was very elaborate, and I walked around with Turkish delights as an addition, and everyone really loved that one.
2:06: I was.
2:07: I think I could like throw something together last minute.
2:09: I’ve, I’m like kind of swamped with work, so I haven’t really been focusing on that, but we’ll see.
2:13: If I was gonna go, I would definitely, I think it’d be fun to be like Daphne from “Scooby Doo” or some other kind of like, oh, Poison Ivy would be another one.
