This week on Three C’s: Many religious and cultural events are being observed this March. Here are three places to go near Columbia’s campus to observe some of these traditions.

0:23: Many religious and cultural events are being observed this March, including but not limited to Ramadan, Lent, Purim and Holi.
0:33: Here are three places to go near Columbia’s campus to observe some of these traditions.
0:39: The Downtown Islamic Center located at 231 South State Street is holding a free daily Iftar for the community for the duration of Ramadan.
0:49: Those who are interested must register online in advance.
0:53: The center is also open daily for other events and prayers.
0:57: More information is available on the Downtown Islamic Center’s website, dtislamiccenter.org.
1:06: On Fridays during Lent, Old Saint Mary’s Catholic Church is presenting the Stations of the Cross, followed by a soup supper.
1:14: The stations of the Cross begin at 6:00 p.m. Old Saint Mary’s Catholic Church is located at 1500 South Michigan Avenue.
1:24: The Kalapriya Center for Indian Performing Arts is hosting an event for Holi, also known as the Festival of Colors.
1:32: The event will be held Saturday, March 15th in the Chicago Women’s Park and Gardens at 1801 South Indiana Avenue.
1:42: The event will run from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Admission costs $10.
1:48: Tickets can be purchased online at kalapriya.org.
