The deadline for Fall 2023 applications is April 28, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. Priority may be given to early applicants. Please read the information below carefully before applying.

ALL CURRENT JOBS are posted on Handshake. You will need to upload a resume and a cover letter. The cover letter should address which position you are applying for, why you are qualified and include samples to your work (as hyperlinks). These are paid positions.

We are currently accepting applications for:

  • Illustrators (Fall)
  • Photojournalists (Fall)
  • Reporters and Copy Editors (Fall)
  • Bilingual reporter (Fall)
  • Media sales and marketing representatives (Summer and Fall)

The Chronicle will review all applications, conduct interviews and reference checks when appropriate and make most hiring decisions for Fall 2023 by the end of May. Students hired for Fall 2023 will be invited to employee training sessions, which will be held in a hybrid format (with in-person and remote options) in late August and expected to begin work at that time if possible. You will be paid to attend training.

If you are not immediately hired, don’t be discouraged! We encourage you to keep developing your skills and to reapply each semester and/or when vacancies become available. We have a limited number of positions at any given time, but encourage all applicants to stay in touch. Many of our current student employees were not hired the first time they applied, but their persistence and growth were ultimately rewarded.
