New vice president of Human Resources appointed

Former St. Xavier University and American Heart Association official Ellen Ryan joined the Columbia administrative staff as vice president of Human Resources on July 28. Her office is in the 218 S. Wabash Ave. building.

Center for Teaching Excellence appoints co-directors

Lott Hill and Soo La Kim have been appointed co-directors of the CTE. Hill was formerly the acting director and Kim the associate director of the Center. Their offices are in the Alexandroff Campus Center, 600 S. Michigan Ave. Both started Sept. 1.

Cottone resigns, replaced by Guzmon

Aldo Guzmon, former activities adviser at Triton College in River Grove, Ill., has replaced Dominic Cottone as director of Student Organizations and Leadership, as well as adviser to the Student Government Association. He started Aug. 25.

Free monthly HIV testing for Columbia students

Starting this fall, Columbia students with valid campus cards can receive free HIV tests provided by Student Health Services. Tests start Sept. 3 and are scheduled for the first Wednesday of each month at the 1104 Center, 1104 S. Wabash Ave., on the 8th floor.
