It’s a stick-up
A male offender robbed a Chase bank, 200 W. Jackson Blvd., on Oct. 23, according to police reports as reported by the Chicago Journal. The male, wearing a black skull cap and black leather jacket, gave one of the bank tellers a note that said, “This is a robbery. I have a gun. Give me your money.” The teller dispensed $200 as the offender stood by with his hand in his pocket indicating he may have a weapon. The offender then fled in an unknown direction.
Doctor larceny
Two male physicians, 39 years old and 37 years old, respectively, in town for an Emergency Medical Physician Convention, came back to their Hilton Chicago hotel room, 720 S. Michigan Ave., to find it had been broken into on Oct. 29. The victims said they lost an iPod Touch valued at $200, a Garmin GPS device valued at $600, a black leather jacket and a total of $4,040 in cash missing from their luggage bags, according to police reports.
Armed robbery
A 25-year-old student leaving the Red Line train at the Roosevelt station, 25 E. Roosevelt Road., was approached by two males in their early 20s on Oct. 27. The two offenders, wearing black hoodies and black pants, demanded money and flashed a Blue Steel handgun at the victim. The victim gave the offenders $90 before they fled westbound on East Roosevelt Road, according to police reports. The victim told police one of the offenders had a six-pointed star tattoo on his neck.
Arrest me, please
On Oct. 27, a 35-year-old male walked into the 001 District Police Station, 1718 S. State St., and laid on the floor in the lobby. Officers asked the offender “numerous times” to get up and leave, but he stayed on the floor. He was then arrested and placed into custody for trespassing, according to police reports.
