More projectors stolen
Two video projectors were stolen from the Alexandroff Campus Center, 600 S. Michigan Ave., on March 31, according to police reports. The projectors, valued at $1,000 each, were stolen from rooms 1305 and 1307 around 11 p.m. Another video projector was stolen on Jan. 25, which was valued at $1,500.
Where’s the money?
A 20-year-old Columbia student was robbed after exiting Subway, 604 S. Wabash Ave., on April 2, according to police reports. The victim was approached by two unknown offenders at 6:20 p.m.
The offenders asked if the victim had any change, and after the victim declined to give any the second offender said, “Give me your money or I’m going to shoot you,” according to the police report. The offender then reached under his hooded sweatshirt with his right hand, at which point the victim handed over $10. Both offenders then fled southbound on Wabash Avenue. No weapon was ever displayed.
No free ride
An unknown male entered a CTA bus and tried to ride the bus for free at 30 E. Roosevelt Road on March 26, according to police reports. The offender entered the bus and tried to use his fare card, but the driver told him it was invalid. The offender, however, walked past the driver and sat down in the back of the bus.
The driver notified her dispatcher of the situation, at which point the offender shouted some offensive things, walked past her, spat on her face and exited the bus, according to the police report. The offender then fled eastbound on Roosevelt Road.
