"With the recent string of college shootings, it’s odd to go in the other direction and increase the availability of firearms on campus. Student suicides are on the rise, and an abundance of guns on campus won’t make things safe."

So you're telling us that ... college shootings are "on the rise"... where are they on the rise? How many colleges have had shootings in the past year. Now compare that to how many people have died from other causes. More people have died this year from golf balls hitting them in the head than college campus shootings.

Also, the line of logic of "well a lot of students drink so guns could be around and they could shoot people while drunk." they all have kitchen knives, but you don't see many drunk stabbings, I wonder why!

The people who are stupid enough to not respect firearms by playing around with them while drunk are the people who already have them and carry them around illegall. When you restrict guns, just like ANYTHING ELSE, you create a black market which stimulates crime and violence.

"there are too many nightmare scenarios that could occur"

to illustrate a point, it is now legal for the u.s. government to throw all of its citizens into camps and deny them rights to due process indefinitely, all they have to do is accuse you of being a terrorist

this is a nightmare scenario

is it going to happen? PROBABLY NOT.

There will ALWAYS be idiots, which means, people will always die by accident due to firearms, and there will also be shootings.

But if you believe that REALITY is a good indicator, look at the places where guns CAN be brought on campus, and then look at how many college shootings occur. Let's take a look at arizona... ANY COLLEGE SHOOTINGS HAPPENING THERE IN A NIGHTMARE SCENARIO? no.

I'm going to make a generalization, and if I'm wrong, which I may be, correct me.

But you've probably never handled a firearm, which is probably why you misunderstand them.

Guns are effective killing machines... prohibiting them, does NOT prevent people from obtaining them, it just prevents people who follow the law from obtaining them. If a kid wants to shoot up a college campus, he's going to do it regardless of whether or not there's some sign posted saying he can't bring a gun to school.

Which is why i'd rather have 3 kids in class with guns to shoot him if necessary.

Concealed carry statistics always show that crime decreases over 10 year periods btw.
