As the frosty weather becomes a part of our daily lives, staying warm has become a priority. This means one thing: Your outerwear has to cut it when it comes to fall fashion.

And if you’re like most people who can’t wait for the semester to be over, looking your best might not be at the top of your to-do list right now.

Rushing into the South Campus Building, 624 S. Michigan Ave., on her way to the library to study, sophomore Lauren McGrady kept warm with her fur bomber hat and coffee in hand. While taking fashion retail management classes, she has learned of new outlets to shop in other than the local thrift store.

Most of her clothes are purchased online at VenaCavaNYC.com, an online store that sells classic dress collections made by two designers who work out of their New York studio. If she can’t find what she wants there, she goes to RevolveClothing.com or ShopStyle.com.

“ShopStyle.com always gives me the best prices, and it has all the stuff I need,” she said.

Her fur bomber hat was a gift and her vintage striped hot pink and purple gym shoes are from RevolveClothing.com

McGrady said she doesn’t follow any particular trends, but she is a big fan of silk clothing. If she would have to describe her style, she would call it “eclectic.”

“I don’t really have a style,” she said. “I like to wear hoodies and cute jeans for class.”

Whether you’re tired of shopping in the same department stores or searching for a new look, there will always be endless possibilities if you shop online.

Don’t forget that the change of weather shouldn’t dampen your unique style. Instead, embrace the weather and rock out with your outerwear.
